JungleCat乐队是由鼓手Mico(刘为)和长期旅居北京,从波克利音乐学院毕业的美国创作歌手Jessica
Meider共同创建的,当时他们想在音乐上做一些新的尝试,将电子乐融合到传统爵士乐和其他音乐风格当中,用乐队现场的形式表现出来,后来他们又找到了另外三位非常优秀的乐手陈劲,汶麟,飞飞来和他们共同诠释，完善这种新的音乐风格.经过多次排练,在迷笛爵士音乐节的首次亮相便引起人们的关注和好评，之后又在著名的刘元CD
Jazz Club,愚公移山Club，东岸Live Jazz Club，上海JZ
Club等多次演出而受到众多人的喜欢。2006年乐队登上中国日报英文版封面并被评论为“最新的声音”。著名音乐人崔健(崔健新闻,崔健音乐,崔健说吧)偶尔也加入他们现场演出的行列，为他们吹奏小号。他们音乐融合了
Jazz, Drum n Bass, Hiphop,House,Dub,Break Beat等众多音乐元素.

Junglecat is the Beijing-born wild child of drummer Mico and
composer/vocalist Jessi-ca Meider. Original compositions feature live drum and
bass mixed with breakbeat, electr-onica, jazz, dub, and rock. Junglecat has
scratched out the boundaries of music, then mix-ed it all together, leaving fans
to categorize it only as "good music." Junglecat plays music festivals, such as
BJ Jazz Festival and Midi Music Festival, and has been working the live venues
of Beijing and Shanghai, including YuGongYiShan, CD Jazz Cafe, East Shore Ca-fe
and Shanghai's JZ Club. Mention Junglecat, and excited words jump at you like
"very co-ol," "best band I ever saw," and "gotta see them."
