Since the 2008 Canadian release of The Discounts - Part One, band leader Neil Conway has been on the road rocking crowds. Join him and the "Chinese Discounts" as he spends the winter in Beijing making things warmer before heading to Australia in April.

FREE THE BIRDS：北京音乐现场的中坚力量之一“自游”最近凤凰涅槃出新生乐队“Free the Birds”，开始演绎全新风格的音乐。仍然是兼收并蓄的混合，Free the Birds从密集的节奏中跳出，打破了流派观念，带来令人愉悦的旋律。复古迪斯科、朋克摇滚、后摇滚、实验、放克甚至还有点Call & Response表演。有时嘈杂，有时美丽，但无论何时他们的节奏都会让人翩翩起舞。他们的音乐是善变的，会让观众随之从高到低，仿佛感觉自己在上帝和魔鬼的领地之间。如果问他们怎样形容自己的音乐，他们会说“那就像地球灭亡之前的最后一个落日，或者是贝多芬的梦境。

FREE THE BIRDS: Formerly known as ZIYO was a staple in the Beijing music scene for 5 years before. Consisting of Helen Feng, the lead singer of Pet Conspiracy and new wunderkid drummer Mao Mao, this band was reborn in 2010 as Free the Birds embracing a completely new vein of music. Always an eclectic mix of styles, FTB now blends a euphoric melodies that bounce in and out of dense rhythmic compositions that destroy the idea of genres. Revival Disco, Punk Rock, Post Rock, Experimental, Funk, & even a little Call & Response action. At times noisy, at times beautiful, and mixed all-together with a grinding danceable rhythm, their music has a mercurial quality that takes audiences on highs and lows as if listening to a DJ battle in Limbo between God and the Devil. Asked to describe their music they say "It's like the last really great sunset before Armaggedon, or Beethoven on a Acid Trip".
